Dr. Jake Bruton  |  Owner & Veterinarian

Dr. Jake Bruton received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine where he specialized in large animal medicine. After graduation, he worked as a large animal veterinarian in southwest Virginia and Pennsylvania, and opened Ruminant Reproductive Services in 2019. Dr. Jake has a passion for learning and practicing the latest technology in reproductive medicine as well as cheering on young farmers who are the future of agriculture.

 

Dr. Jake lives in Floyd, Virginia with his wife and four children who all play a role in serving the clients of Ruminant Reproductive Services. RRS is truly a family-owned business and those values and hospitality come through in our care of our clients.

 

In Dr. Jake’s free time, he loves working on his own farm where he raises beef cattle, sheep, and Karakachan livestock guardian dogs. He also enjoys spending time with his family and serving in his church.

Taunya is who you will speak with if you give us a call. She handles our scheduling, ordering medicine for our clients, and other behind-the-scenes tasks.

Taunya has a background in human functional nutrition but has loved entering the veterinary world and seeing where animal and human medicine and nutrition overlap. Her favorite part of her job is getting to form relationships with those in the local agricultural community working to feed the world. She genuinely loves our clients!

In Taunya's free time, she enjoys laughing at Dr. Jake's jokes and wrastling/homeschooling their four kids. She also loves gardening, canning, hiking and serving in their church.
